First up the rare helmet Dragon Mind lets you steal all the opponents Artifacts when you put it into play. We haven’t seen much in the way of charge powers for PvE classes (The Wrath of Zakiir is a PvE-only card – that’s what the little yellow/gold symbol at the bottom of the card means) so there’s no way of knowing how this new power compares to what you will already have, but it seems like an incredibly powerful ability.Īnd, as if this card wasn’t already powerful enough, the equipment available to it increases its potential even further. Now, you can only use Charge Powers once per turn, so you won’t be burning your opponent to the ground in a single round with this, but depending on how much charge you have and how many resources you are able to put into play you could quite easily reduce their defending line to ruins, opening the way for the rest of your troops. The second part of this card replaces your Charge Power with a new power (I’m assuming it replaces it here, rather than giving you an additional Charge Power.) Your new power will let you directly deal 3 damage to either a troop or the enemy Champion, all for the low low cost of a single charge. This is an incredibly powerful effect, as it will massively cut down any damage you are receiving from the opponent, or even remove it entirely if they have no flying troops. There are 2 parts to this: first up, your Champion gains an analogue to the Flight keyword, and as a result you can only be attacked by troops that also have the Flight keyword. It does need to be mentioned though that this card is a Kickstarter-exclusive: you’ll only get this card if you backed the Champion tier or higher, so if you missed your shot the only way you’ll get this card is to find someone who wants to trade it with you.īut lets take a look at what this card actually does. The artwork on this card is also super nice (though that’s true of the other 2 dragon cards too – you might have noticed Uruunaz sitting at the top of the site!) And it gives us a small peak at some story elements too – Zakiir used to be a Wild dragon who hoarded so many Ruby hexing gems that he was transformed into a Ruby Dragon.

For starters, it’s the only card we’ve seen so far that directly replaces your Champion with something else (with the possible exception of the Chaos Key when using it’s Legendary equipment.) It’s also the first Gem Dragon we’ve seen, though since it’s an action instead of a troop, it doesn’t really give us much insight into how Gem Dragons themselves might function. The Wrath of Zakiir! This card is just great – how can you not love a card that turns your Champion into a dragon? Conceptually it’s brilliant, but it’s also really interesting for a few reasons. A card that lets you turn into a dragon?!
